Has JESUS taken a hold of you? I pray so in a POWERFUL way! There is nothing like it! Is the HOLY SPIRIT upon you? I pray so, in a POWERFUL way!

I have to tell you I was struck in a glorious way yesterday by the Holy Spirit that had me shaking! The gates of heaven were opened wide and candy was pouring out from Heaven to me and Sharon and satan was sent packing! God gave me the picture of me as a little boy and HIM pouring down candy on our house.

In my hometown as a little boy in the late 50′s and 60′s people used to give me candy all the time…………….so much love was shown in my hometown. The faith of a child……..have the faith of a child……….

The LORD poured out HIS love to Sharon and I so much yesterday it shook me, I weeped so……I shook so………In my entire life I have never experienced anything like this.

I do not know exactly what the LORD is doing……but What I do know is that HE is with us. I do not have to know exactly what HE is doing……. we go forth in faith.

Have the faith of a child……

All I know is that after having breakfast with niece Megan and her husband to be Jake……..the LORD called out the Heavy artillery and just poured out much that brought me to my knees, so much I looked at my watch…..8:01am………The LORD made a HUGE break through in our lives.

The Words that the LORD gave me was, Look here, let me present My servant…….I have taken a hold of Him.

Yes, the LORD has taken a hold of me and Sharon more than ever! Will you join us and Thank the LORD for all HE has done and is doing for us?

Have the faith of a child……..

The LORD, MY Daddy, has a hold of me and Sharon.

That is the Good News I will continue to spread until the LORD call’s me home!

Good to talk to you Dr. Steve yesterday! We are very thankful for the love and care that Dr. Steve Hopkins has given to Buffy her in journey with cancer. Dr. Steve in one in a million, God has Blessed this man so to take care of HIS four legged creations. We are believing that Buffy is healed! Dr. Steve also helped save the life of Reno was was very sick when we adopted him, Reno had to go through two heart worm treatments. Dr. Kelly and Dr. Wood at the Cancer Center here in Albuquerque and Dr. Steve have made a good team for Buffy. We are very thankful for these people of God, Our God has given these Doctor’s the hands…..the minds…..the care….the souls…….to take care of HIS animals.

As many of you know my wife Sharon is a nurse…..I have to tell you she is the BEST! Patients grab onto her for love and care..for an encouraging word……..to talk to her about their greatest fears…….people weep in her arms……people hug her…….

When I go visit people in the Hospital……..I grab onto those nurses and Doctor’s when I can and hold their hands and thank the LORD for them…………I hug all the nurses at the Cancer Center……..

The hands of a nurse and Doctor are so precious!!!

When I can I grab onto the nurses and Doctor’s and pray with them.

I say, when I can because sometime they are so busy in the room that I cannot bother them, but I pray over them.

I have not had anyone turn that down.

One Hospital visit of late, the Doctor let me hold her hands while I also held the hand of the wife of the patient……..And then the Doctor and the wife were able to talk so peacefully about important decisions.

I remember when Buffy was going to have surgery and the Surgeon let me grab his hands and pray………..and give thanks.

I share all this, to encourage us all not to be timid about our FAITH! I have not had one person tell me no. Everyone needs a hug now and then, everyone needs word’s of encouragement, Doctor’s and Nurses are so overwhelmed these days, here’s the deal, the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST MELTS HEARTS! Show the love of JESUS and watch what happens!

One of my most favorite paintings of all time is the one that I have in my office at the Radio Ranch of the Doctor sitting at his Desk talking with JESUS, THE GREAT PHYSICIAN!

Let us understand that the Doctor’s and nurses need love just like we do.

Sometimes they are to be the Patient. We are to serve them.

I was asked by someone on Wednesday, “So what to you think of this Tim Tebow?”

I said, “What a wonderful man of God, he just shares his faith with all!”

She said, “Well, I keep my religious beliefs to myself!”

I said, “He never says a bad word about anybody, he just shares the love of JESUS CHRIST with everyone. Tebow never attacks anyone.”

Let us all be TEBOW’S!

What is your perception of the phrase,

“Once Saved, Always Saved”.

Besides denying GOD (existence), can one ‘LOSE’ their Salvation
after accepting HIM as their LORD & SAVIOR?

Once saved, always saved. This is not a subject addressed in the Bible, yet questions arise and the matter is discussed endlessly in many different circles of faith. The question I point people to is from Acts 16:30, “What must I do to be saved?” and the simple answer from Acts 16:31 is “believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.” The question that then follows, and is more biblical in nature and also discussed at length throughout scripture, is probably better presented as: “Once saved, what have you done with that salvation?”
Salvation is a gift from God, given by His unceasing grace, and received by our unwavering faith in Him who gave it. (Eph 2:5,8) Salvation is of God. (Ps50:23, Luke3:6, Acts28:28) God is salvation. (Ex15:2, Ps27:1, Luke2:30) We must recognize these truths about salvation and understand that “Every good thing and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights. (James1:17) What the scripture asks us then is to examine our lives after receiving salvation and determine what we have done and are continuing to do with so great a gift.
When asked leading questions like what does the Bible say about “once saved, always saved”, I always focus in on, “why the question?”. Mathew 16:24-27, John 12:25-26, and Colossians chapters 2,3,and 4 become wonderful passages of scripture to direct those that have this question into. Our question need not be, “If I receive God’s gift of salvation, can I lose it?”, but rather, “What have I done with it, what am i doing with it now?”
God’s gift of salvation brings about a transformed life. The fruit of God’s Spirit manifests in our lives and we no longer walk according to the ways of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16-25) The believer is said to be working out his salvation (progressively growing in it) as our heart and mind is changed (transformed). Salvation is the initial step in the believers transformation into the image and likeness of Christ, Who is our salvation.
Here is an example the Lord gave me as I was leaving the station yesterday. I received an electronic gift some time back and after opening it and admiring the thoughtfulness of the giver, I read the instruction manual that came with it. So it is with salvation; you receive it freely, thank God for so great a gift, and then open the Bible (God’s instruction manual) and discover how to operate what you just received. The Lord also pointed this out in His example: Everything was in place, ready to go, even the power source, but I needed to pull out a small plastic tab that prevented the battery from making contact and letting power flow into the device. What a great visual! So it is with salvation. We need to remove that layer of unbelief and make contact with our new power source (Holy Spirit) that comes installed with salvation for it to operate as it was designed by God. This “born again” transformation in our lives causes the connection that energizes all the functions built into our gift from God. When we unwrap (receive) the gift of salvation, read the manual (Bible), and activate the power source (connect to Holy Spirit) it causes a transformation that is recognized and beneficial to you and others. Now that’s a awesome gift and should be followed up by a “Thank You” card (prayer of thanksgiving). Lord, thank you for the gift of salvation. It is the one gift I am determined not to lose, but use!

It seems to me that that Bible is very clear that we do not , “slip away” or accidentally “fall away”. However we can make a conscious decision to leave His grace, accept another route to salvation, or choose to make laws and doctrine our salvation which takes us out of the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. The entire letter of Hebrews deals with those who accepted the Law of God, forsook the law for their salvation, accepted Jesus’ grace and mercy, then went BACK to the law. Hebrews tells us that the Law keepers will trample under foot the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here’s how it reads in Hebrews 6:4-6
“For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.”
This is not an “accidental” fall like slipping on a banana peal and falling off a clip. These were followers of the Old Testatment law and decided to follow the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice. Then they deliberately chose to reject Jesus and follow the law again. When we accept Him and then decide that another way (John 14:6) will get us salvation because of general thought or teaching (i.e. doesn’t matter what you believe or how you act, we are all going to be saved) and become enslaved and entangled to sin we deliberately choose another lifestyle and path for salvation…Hebrews says we are lost.
Example: Did Satan, Lucifer ever enjoy and taste the blessings of the presence of God? We must say “yes”. Did he ever enjoy the bounties of heaven or the heavenly realm? We must say “yes”. Did Satan rebel and lead a third of the angels with him in this rebellion and fall away from the mercy and grace of God? Will he be cast into a special place reserved for him and his followers? According to the letter of Revelation, the answer is yes and for all those who reject the mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away”.

How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sancified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?”

“now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teaching of demons,”
2 Peter 3:17
“therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on guard, so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from you own stability”

In Revelation where Jesus is talking to the 7 churches
LovelessChurch – “repent or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent” – Rev. 2:5 Reason: left their first love

Persecuted church – “be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” Rev. 2:10

Compromising Church – “repent or I will fight against them with the sword of my mouth” Rev. 2:16

Corrupt church – repent. Hold fast till I come” – Rev. 2:26

Dead church –“hold fast and repent and I will not blot out his name from the book of life” Rev. 3:3 and 5

Faithful church – “hold fast so no one may take your crown” – Rev. 3:11

Lukewarm church – repent “ to him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne” – Rev. 3:21

Do we hire night time help; move her to a nursing home here in New Mexico; do we move her back to her home in Oklahoma where her plot is located and place her in a nursing home there. We are seeking guidance for the best care for Opal However, caring for her in our home means that my wife must be a full time caregiver. So prayers are needed for strength and rest periods for Diana. talked to Amanda this afternoon, found a pain med that is helping, not so many side effects. ran “scope”, found no serious issues, have reflux problems,treating with meds, also had cough on Saturday night, so on anti-biotics. in couple of days, hope to give her the shot near the break to help with pain, swelling & keep bones from rubbing against each other. family so grateful for all the prayers, appreciate allowing for rest without visitors. will give you all updates as I receive them.

The question; “Can I lose my salvation?” is a common question for pastors (right after do my pets go to heaven). But it is the wrong question. The question I would ask; “Why do you seek the Lord?” Are you just looking for fire insurance or the avoidance of punishment. Do you desire a relationship with the King?

How would we feel if our spouse wanted to marry us to avoid punishment, say deportation? Jesus was ask by a wealthy young man what he must do have eternal life, because from youth he had obeyed all the commandments. Jesus replied that he must sell all that he had and then follow Him.

We can search the scriptures and find text to support our point of view, but ultimately the question is one of the heart. Do I love the Lord with all that I am and do I pursue Him with the passion required to find Him? If we answer well the right questions, the question of eternal security becomes foolish and silly.

Thanking the Lord this day that Daughter Gretchen got a job at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales where she attends school, as the handler of Vic and Tory the two greyhounds that are the mascot’s of the University! She loves dogs and is going into Wildlife Management, so this is so AWESOME in our LORD!

I am sitting here at the Computer this morning just full of the Holy Spirit and thinking HOW BIG OUR GOD IS!

This may be the most important CUP I have ever written…the LORD has told me so………

Please drink this CUP slowly……….in prayer…………..slowly……….it is overflowing……..

My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus. Acts 20:24 That is the theme of this CUP………..

One of the first things Pastor Jim Montoya told me when I met him was “God is working on things you don’t even know…….God is working all over the Universe, in dimensions we can’t even see”!

I have carried that with me since.

Think of this, and HOW BIG OUR GOD is………There are more than 80 BILLION galaxies in the universe, which for the record, equates to more than 10 galaxies per person!!!!!!!

As Pastor Mark Batterson in his book, “The Circle Maker” says, “I don’t think we have to worry about running out of things to do when we get to heaven! It’s an awfully big sand box!!”

Get this and pray on this in wonderment of our LORD……..How big is this Universe man talks about?

The outer edge of the universe is 15.5 billion light years away!

Batterson says,” Our best thought on our best day falls 15.5 billion light- years short of how great and how good GOD really is!!!!”

Even the most brilliant among us underestimates GOD by 15.5 billion light years! GOD is able to do 15.5 billion light-years beyond what we can ask or even imagine!

That has stirred me so in wonderment and thankfulness……….I am clearly in AWE!

That song…..I can only Imagine…….comes to mind…….

I am so PUMPED up this morning with the movement of the Holy Spirit……I am being lifted higher by our LORD, the Body of Christ reached out to me yesterday with impactive messages from the LORD, Kathy Robbins, Sandy Harrington, Justin Johnson,Ray Sturdivant, and Karen Rowe. Kathy, Sandy and Karen both moved in the Holy Spirit to share things the LORD had shown them to share with me and Justin shared with me how the Holy Spirit moved in the life of his family. Justin made a trip to California, he made these plans awhile back, and he was able to visit with his 92 year old Uncle before he passed onto heaven. God’s timing! What Ray posted on the CUP yesterday really put things in a nutshell for us on the LOVE and POWER of JESUS CHRIST! I have to tell you that Ray has been sent by God to minister to us through his writing and his Radio Ministry!

It’s coming……It’s an AWESOME thing! From where I sit and look and watch over 100 Ministries daily, as that is my work as Shepherd of KKIM/KARS, I see it first hand.

I could say, I don’t know where all these word’s came from this morning, but they are the word’s that the Holy Spirit sent me! For God’s Glory Alone and Thanks to all those that make this Ministry possible!

Now one of the many blessings we have at the Radio Ranch is our relationship with Dr. Joe Fawcett, Dr. Joe shares with us each morning because he feels this is what the Lord wants him to do, Joe is answering the calling of our LORD………he get’s no pay for this, he is just being obedient to our LORD and giving us the information that the LORD has put in him and show’s him each day! That is what Ministry is all about, not worrying about a return.

Too many Radio Evangelists, Preachers, and Author’s worry about whether or not they are to Preach or write and if anybody is listening or buying their book. That is not the question!

The question is this: ARE YOU CALLED TO DO IT? That’s the only question you need to answer! If your answer is YES, then you need to keep going and be obedient to God. It is as simple as that! It does not matter if one person reads your book or listens to your program, it’s being obedient to God’s plan for your life and talents that counts! You will never know until you get to heaven how many lives you have touched. Consider that when you hear from people that is a HUGE BLESSING!

Too many Christians get easily discouraged in Ministry and give up to soon. They are looking in all the wrong places for affirmation. It’s the calling of the LORD and being Obedient to that Call that counts!……….that’s all you need to know.

I have been asked by so many Ministries about RESULTS of radio and TV Ministry, results of their Church’s, Pastor’s keeping so focused on attendance……is that what this is all about? NO! I have been doing this 37 years and what the LORD has shown me over the years is, Answer my Call, do what I show you, say what I tell you to say, and reach one of my son’s or daughters at a time, one step at a time……….

Ministry is one person at a time……..raising them up like a Baby……….caring for them.

Let’s change gears here a second and get this valuable information from Dr. Joe! When Dr. Joe was on the radio the last time he talked about Christians being overweight, and how a survey showed that too many Christian were abusing their bodies by being overweight. Dr. Joe delivered a strong message to Pastor’s on being overweight. We are to take care of our Temple that the LORD has given us, and the Pastor must set the example as the leader!

How Big is Your Food Plate…does it Matter?

I came across this very interesting piece of useful information and felt it necessary to share with the Daily Cup readers. Up until this research paper, we’d been taught that the size of one’s dinner plate helps to control portion sizes and therefore was an important factor in diet programs. But, no more. Please read:

The size of one’s dinner plate does not help to curb energy intake or control portion sizes, according to a recent study conducted at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

“Smaller plates are often recommended as a way of controlling intake, but that simply isn’t an effective strategy,” said Meena Shah, senior researcher and professor of kinesiology at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. “There was no plate size, weight status, or plate size by weight status effect on meal energy intake.”

Researchers from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas examined 10 normal weight women and 10 overweight or obese women over two different days at lunch. Subjects were randomly assigned to consume lunch using either a small (21.6 cm) or large (27.4 cm) plate. The meal, which consisted of spaghetti and tomato sauce, was served in an individual serving bowl. Each subject was asked to self-serve the food from the bowl onto the assigned plate and instructed to eat until satisfied. The meal was consumed alone and without any distractions. During the second lunch, each subject went through the same procedure but using the alternative size plate.

“It is possible that plate size does not have an impact on energy intake because people eat until they are full regardless of what utensils they are using,” said Shah.

Plate size also did not affect ratings of palatability, hunger, satiety, fullness and prospective consumption in either normal weight or overweight/obese women.

“Those who were overweight/obese reported lower levels of hunger and prospective consumptions before the meals and felt less full after the meals compared to normal weight subjects despite no difference in energy consumption between two groups,” said Shah. “This suggests that overweight/obese individuals may have a lower ability to sense hunger and fullness than normal weight adults.”

The findings were published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics in December, 2011.

The bottom line here is that regardless of plate size and all that is piled upon it, overweight and obese Christians usually exhibit an addictive problem that manifests as a “false comforter”. This needs to be revealed and confronted in Love to let them know that our only Comforter is the Holy Spirit sent by Christ from the Father (John 15: 26). Overweight and out of shape Christians have conformed to the world’s false comforter. This should not be because, “…the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14: 17. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit, let’s not quench Him. Let us manifest Him inside and outside His Temple…our physical body to His glory.

Dewey for the past 6 years I have planted a church called Son Rise Christian Fellowship and then blended it into Crestview Baptist Church. God has carried myself and Sue my wife through many trials and tribulations. The bible says that God will not tempt you with more than you can bear. That he always offers a way out of a difficult situation. I have seen this for myself as we have church planted and restarting a church in my life as a pastor. When we stop and ask for His wisdom, listen to it and then follow it. Following the instruction is sometimes the hardest thing to do as humans.

Last week my wife and I were faced with a life changing issue before us that could if we did not ask God for help would have brought our ministry to a crippling blow or even to an end. As of last Thursday evening we are now parenting our grand children of 10 months and 2 years old. It doesn’t sound hard at first, but you have to remember that we have been for the last 3 years re launching Crestview Baptist Church in the heart of the International Zone. We have made great strides for the Lord in this ministry, however as a Bi-Vocational pastor we are always running at the limit just to get the Church open for Sunday School, Worship service and Mid Week Service. My wife teaches a Sunday School class for young teen girls and I teach a Twenty Something Adult class as well preaching. Our church is growing with young families that are new to the Christian Faith, we have become their father and mother in teaching them what the bible has to say and how to live before Christ.

With this new load added onto us with Connor and Clay, we went before God for help. We did not know who would help us pick up the yoke of serving our body. But God new and he nudge us to ask for help from our brothers and sisters in Christ. Before we could even really worry about it. One of my new Deacons Beatle Lopez stepped into my class teach. This is a man that is on fire for God, because God has changed him into a leader in his family and in his community. Then another Deacon Pat O’Brien and his wife Nancy stepped into picking up one of our members that Sue would always take to and from Church. We then had two young moms who have small ones themselves step into help in the nursery for Sunday School and during Worship Service. This last Sunday we had our second largest attendance in the past 3 years! I praise God for hearing our prayers and sending the saints to come along side of us. I have been humbled through this trial and will stay in this humble state as He teaches me about His love for me. And how the true community that is before Christ will come to the aide of a brother in need.

I would now ask the body of Christ in New Mexico to keep us in prayer because of the load upon us from raising our grandchildren to even what we do at CBC to Family Way’s radio show that we air on KKIM, it is for God’s Glory Alone!

back. daughter Amanda will continue to call with news. no visitors or calls is still the request by the family. when the pain is not so intense,
Betty attempts rest. promise to keep all of you in the loop.

Heal Our Land
George Mǘller of Bristol, England, obtained the English equivalent of almost ten million dollars in his lifetime through prayer for his homes for orphans. He never asked anyone but God to provide for the needs. Mǘller didn’t pray for a thing just because he wanted it or even if it was (in his opinion) greatly needed for the Lord’s work. When Mǘller was burdened to pray for something, he first checked Scripture. Sometimes he would search the Word for days before he would pray about his burden.

Commenting on his method of prayer, Mǘller said he would search Scripture “not for the sake of the public ministry of the Word, not for the sake of preaching on what I meditated upon, but for the sake of obtaining food for my own soul. The result I almost always found was that after a very few minutes my soul was led to confession, or to thanksgiving, or to intercession, or to supplication; so that, though I did not, as it were, give myself to prayer, but to meditation, yet it turned almost immediately more or less into prayer.” Then, with a finger on the promise in his Bible and his heart turned to God, he would plead that promise until he received what he asked for. He always prayed with an open Bible before him.

Can we pray like that? For God to heal our nation? There’s no need for me to catalog the sins of our culture. We all know what they are. Our nation is suffering moral failure and the results are greed, perversion and every manner of evil. We’re like the people of Jesus’ day, when He came to Capernaum in the early days of His ministry, whom the Scriptures say were like “people sitting in the land of darkness—people sitting in the land and shadow of death” (Mt. 4:15-16). Jesus solution was repentance (Mt. 4:17).

How would George Mǘller have prayed for us? Perhaps he would have chosen a scripture addressed to a nation very much like ours. Why don’t you join me today, as we read and pray this familiar passage from 2 Chronicles 7:13-14: “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Do you believe that God will answer a prayer like that? I do.

WHAT WE ARE AND HAVE IN CHRIST

I paraphrased the first three chapters of Ephesians and made them personal as to what we have and are in Christ. This is only three chapters. Imagine if we did this to all of Paul’s writings. I think it would change our identity if we meditated on what God thinks of us.

Ephesians 1:3 I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 I am holy and blameless before Him
5 I am adopted as a son through Jesus
6 He freely bestowed grace on me.
7 I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of my trespasses
11 I am an inheritance to God
13 I am sealed with the Holy Spirit
14 I am God’s own possession

Ephesians 2:4 with His great love He loved me,
5 He made me alive together with Christ,
6 God raised me up with Him, and seated me with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
8 For by grace I have been saved through faith; and that not of myself, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that I can’t boast.

15 I derive my name from God.
16 I am strengthened on the inside through the power of the spirit.
17 Christ dwells in my heart to ground me in love.
18 I have been given the ability to comprehend the height and depth of God’s love for me.
19 I know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge, it fills me up to the fullness of God.
20 Working within me is the power to do exceedingly abundantly more than I can ask or think.

This one made me sit back and read it three times! I have already made a copy and have it with my devotional material. What else do we need to know?

Hi – memorial service went very well except wind. unfortunately it did not end on a good note. Betty, John & I were removing the “stuff” from the
chapel, noticed one of the bags caught on fire. we decided it best to extinguish the candles near the chapel. Betty missed a step, fell backwards,
landed square on her tail bone, now has a bad compression fracture of her spine, the lumbar area. went to emergency room at womens hospital,
in lots of pain, will be admitted to try & control the pain and monitor her condition. yikes, cannot believe it!! will keep you all updated.

Betty is a leader is this state for our Lord. Please keep her in your prayers. We are praying for complete healing.

Hosea 11;1 Old testament Prophecy

Eternal One: When Israel was a child, I loved him; and out of Egypt I called My son.

Fulfilled in JESUS Matt 2: 14,15

So Joseph got up in the middle of the night; he bundled up Mary and Jesus, and they left for Egypt. Joseph, Mary and Jesus stayed in Egypt until Herod died. This fulfilled yet another prophecy. The prophet Hosea once wrote, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”

God twice called His children out of Egypt: first Israel’s descendants, God’s chosen people, and then Jesus, who made everyone—-Jews and Gentiles

May you grow in your prayer life this day……….

May you float above the darkness of this world in the love of JESUS!

What if Jesus were to ask you, “Dear one, what do you want me to do for you?”

Would you be able to spell out the promises , miracles, and dreams God has put on your heart?

If we cannot answer this question, then we’re as blind as the two men that hailed Jesus on His way out of Jericho.

And that’s why our prayers not only can be boring to us, but uninspiring to God!

If faith is being sure of what we hoped for, then being unsure of what we hope for is the antithesis of faith, isn’t it?

Well-developed faith results in well-defined prayers, and well-defined prayers result in an AWESOME GODLY life!

I am up at between 3am and 4am each day……..even on weekends to pray, listen and read. Putting the Armour of God on. It is taking me longer now with my prayer Circle. I will share with you more on a book Kevin at Bibles Plus game me, The Circle Maker, it is a book on prayer. The Lord always leads me to books that I am to read..Thank you LORD. How can we not start out our day without prayer and praise?

It would be like going to work naked!!!! LOL!!!

A friend texted me early this morning frustrated………I have not asked my friend yet if they had started their day with prayer. Very simply we are going to have frustrations each day and we must put on the armor of God. How can one not start the day with Prayer, Praise, and reading the Word? It is the breakfast of Champions! Champions for God. Hallelujah!!!!!!

Years ago I would carry sheets of paper with the list of everything I was praying for in my devotional book. Recently I found that old book and list. It brought back the names of many that made me smile.

After reading a few chapters of this new book by Pastor Mark Batterson, The Circle Maker, I have taken a tablet and drawn a BIG circle around different names and situations. I have drawn the wagons of God around my family, friends, and situations. I have written GOD on top of that circle. I then lay my hands of these names and situations. I should mention that I anoint myself with oil first and then lay my hands on the tablet.

This all has been shown to me by our LORD……..I am filled with peace and my prayers are filled with peace and I see people receiving the Peace of JESUS CHRIST.

What can we do more important than pray and give thanks? Hallelujah!

The Lord has also shown to me to make our prayers specific, not vague.

What is your Jericho?

They just silently circled the promise of God. The first time the Soldiers circled the walls of Jericho they must have felt foolish. But with each stride they grew stronger in their faith.

By the seventh day, their faith was ready to pop.

They arose early and started circling at 6am.

In keeping with God’s promise they had not said a word in 6 days.

They just silently circled the promise.

Then the Priests sounded their horns, and a simultaneous shout followed.

Six hundred thousand Israelites raised a holy roar that registered on the Richter scale, and the walls came tumbling down.

After seven days of circling Jericho, God delivered on a four hundred year old promise.

He proved once again that His promises do not have an expiration date!

And Jericho stands, and falls, as a testament to this simple truth: If you keep circling the promise and praying on it and Praising the Promise of God, God will ultimately deliver on it.

So read the Word of God each day so you know the promises of God.

I love this from the book by Pastor Batterson,…….Faith is the willingness to look foolish! AMEN! I have nothing to loose, and either do you! We have the LORD! I don’t care if I look foolish to the World.

I couldn’t care less about fame or fortune, I want to be famous in my home. That is the greatest fortune we can have, home and family

Yesterday was such an AWESOME day……..I met with Kathy and Teresa of Legacy Church to plan our 40th Birthday celebration. WOW! The LORD is really putting things in order! We also will be recognizing others for their longtime service to KKIM. The main thing about this night is to give Honor and Glory to our LORD for what He has done and is doing with KKIM. It’s a night for all of New Mexico and Southern Colorado to come together as we fellowship in our LORD! Please mark April 13th down and please be there, starts at 6pm with a reception and from 7 to 9 the service takes place at Legacy Church, the main campus. Also yesterday on NM News and Views we had Marita Noon with us discussing the Keystone Pipeline. Our listeners are always blessed by her solid information. Marita heads the organization Energy Makes America Great. She has regular posting’s at www.townhall.com She lives right here in New Mexico. Marita confirmed for us that around 13,000 jobs would be created through this project and of course other positive impacts to the economy. Marita said it is simply ridiculous for people to call this project “a dangerous project for our Country” I have to say I think the way some people look at Energy Policy for America, it’s like they live on Mars! Do not they realize that we are the Greatest Country in the World under God and have developed so many safety measures through God given talent to prevent disasters. For heaven’s sake’s we are the Country that put man on the Moon, are we not?Let not America forget we were founded by God! I really believe Marita would make an excellent Secretary of Energy for the United States of America! She research’s everything! Sound mind and spirit! Tips for Easing Colds and Flu
It’s the middle of the cold and flu season. Americans spend $3.5 billion yearly on doctor’s visits and nonprescription treatments for their one billion yearly colds, many caused by viruses such as the rhinovirus.

The rhinovirus charges even harder than its namesake African beast, and the flu virus is even worse — costing Americans about $10 billion yearly, while sending 240,000 folks to the hospital and killing another 36,000. And flu shots are no guarantee you won’t be a victim. In a recent two-year period, flu shots were only 44% effective in stopping the flu and the side effects from the shots can be devastating.

An Ounce of Prevention …
For preventing cold and flu infections, simple common sense can be dramatically effective. The keys:

1. Take a good multivitamin.
Many nutrients, especially zinc and vitamin C, are very important for your body’s immune defense systems to work properly. Take a good multivitamin to ensure you’re getting a well-balanced set of nutrients.

2. Remember your mother’s advice: Wash your hands!
We don’t “catch” most colds from inhaling the virus. Usually, the viruses were hanging out on a doorknob or other object, and they went from our fingers to our mouth or face. During cold season, wash your hands, which will wash off the viruses, when you get to work or get home. Do a thorough job. TIP: An effective hand-washing takes about as long as it takes to sing “Happy Birthday to You.” Also, in public places you’ll want to use something other than your hand to open a door such as wearing gloves, or using a part of your jacket, or the paper towel you just used to dry your hands.

3. Get your 8 hours sleep a night.
Research proves that depriving you of sleep suppresses your immune system. Your immune system is sleep-sensitive. Aim for 8 hours nightly. I suspect poor sleep in CFS/FMS is an important contributor to immune dysfunction.

What to Do if You Already Have the Infection

1. Don’t eat a lot of dairy.
Feel a cold coming on? Foods like milk and cheese are filled with bone-building calcium. But their proteins can also make existing phlegm thicker and more irritating to the throat and sinus passages, which worsens uncomfortable upper respiratory symptoms like stuffiness and coughing, and sets the stage for a post-cold (and painful!) throat or sinus infection. It’s okay to have some dairy, but don’t overdo it during colds. Use almond milk instead for soft cereals or in a healthy smoothie.

2. Skip the soda.
The nine teaspoons of sugar in the average 12 ounce can of soda suppresses immune function by 30% for up to three hours — just the opposite of what you want to do when you have a cold or flu!

3. Use a nasal rinse.
Coughing out mucus or blowing your nose is your body’s way of getting rid of billions of bacteria and viruses so your immune system doesn’t have to kill them in hand-to-hand combat. And one easy way to help your body get rid of those bugs is with a nasal rinse, which washes out more than 90% of the critters. You can rinse your nose with a netipot from your local health food store or drugstore, a product that will likely include the salts to make the rinse (e.g., the NasaFlow Netipot, from NeilMed). Or you can make the rinse at home, either sniffing it from the palm of your hand, or (lying down) squirting an eyedropper of the rinse into each nostril. After rinsing your nose, blow gently. (You don’t want to hurt your ears!) A recipe for the homemade rinse is to mix 1/2 teaspoon salt per cup of lukewarm water. You can add an optional pinch of baking soda to make it more soothing. Just make sure you keep the netipot clean.

4. Drink a lot of filtered water.
Drinking warm filtered water (hot tea or hot water with a squirt of lemon for flavor) loosens the mucous, so it can be coughed out.

5. Inhale steam.
This is a great tip for colds that have turned into bronchitis. Just take a hot shower, and take a few deep breaths. This will loosen the mucous so you can cough it out.

6. Suck on zinc lozenges.
An analysis of several studies shows that using zinc lozenges during a cold can reduce its duration by 42% — in other words, the length of a typical cold is cut nearly in half. The keys to cold-shortening success when using zinc lozenges are the type and amount used. Use zinc acetate. And suck on lozenges that deliver at least 70 mg of zinc a day. For example, suck on four 20 mg lozenges per day. Can’t find lozenges with more than 10 mg? Suck on two at a time. GNC and the Vitamin Shoppe have tasty ones

7. Don’t forget the vitamin C — 1,000 to 8,000 mg daily.
Vitamin C does help the common cold. Researchers analyzed 30 studies on vitamin C and colds, involving more than 11,000 people. They found that taking the vitamin shortened the duration of colds up to 13% in adults and up to 22% in children. For prevention, a multi with 500 mg of Vitamin C is optimal.

8. For “cough medicine,” try dark chocolate!
Yep! A two-ounce square of dark chocolate can suppress coughs as effectively as cough medicines. (Dark chocolate contains at least 75% cacao.) Use the chocolate if you have a dry cough, which just irritates your lungs. A wet, productive cough that gets rid of mucous shouldn’t be suppressed.

I woke up this morning to this email on the condition of little Dominic who we have been praying for………

Hello Pastor Dewey,
I am sorry that I have not provided you with an update on my grandson Dominic, I have been instructing CPR here in Albuquerque and have not had an opportunity. Dominic continues to progress daily. He did have a bit of a setback early this week, he developed an infection in his stomach, but it is clearing up. He has also been experiencing hallucinations and so that has been difficult for him. His speech is very much improved as has his upper body strength. Day by day he is eating more, but still being tube fed. We have a team meeting with his physicians next week to see what the plan of action will be, but is looking like 4-6 more weeks. Thank you for all your support, we give thanks to the Lord for you. You are such a role model for Dominic, he really looks up to you. In his mind you are every bit a the mentor that Tim is. God Bless You!~

One of the great blessings I have here at the Radio Ranch and CUP is seeing the Body of Christ coming together, that is why I preach on it it a lot, I see the Godly benefit. Yesterday was a prime example of NM Watchman himself Jose Vasquez reporting live from Santa Fe on Sanctity of Life Day. Pastor Bill Ruhl texting me a report so I can use it on air………Spreading the Good News of JESUS CHRIST…..As Bill reports a WONDERFUL DAY IN OUR LORD!………..

Wonderful day spent in Santa Fe at the Plaza and the Roundhouse declaring the sanctity of Life… from conception to natural death. Wonderful worship and testimonies throughout the morning, beautiful unity procession around the plaza and on to the Roundhouse. Speakers encouraged New Mexicans to stay involved, make their voices heard on behalf of those who will never have a voice, and urge their elected representatives to move the important bills supporting life and parental notification out of committee (“Kill Committees”) and on to the floor of the legislature for a vote. 400 beautiful balloons released representing the lives of the unborn being lost through abortions in New Mexico, a shout of thanks from the thousands gathered to Governor Martinez and hundreds of roses delivered to her office, visits with the legislature to encourage votes for life and parental notification. All in all, a great display of the Body of Christ rightly fit together for the cause of Life…and that more abundantly!

The Sanctity of Life Awareness and Unity Day observance in Santa Fe brought more than 2500 persons to the State Capitol. Organized by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, Director of Project Defending Life, a large crowd assembled on the Santa Fe’s historic Plaza to declare New Mexico a Pro-Life state. Representative Alonzo Baldonado from Belen and Pastor Eric Lamb from Albuquerque addressed the assembly.

Pastor Lamb pointed out that life was undeniably a human right from conception, that abortion is the termination of a life for convenience sake based solely on where the person resides, namely the womb.

Representative Baldonado, who ran as an unabashedly pro-life candidate in a largely liberal district, attributed his success not to political maneuvering but rather to stating the truth about abortion.

The suffering that abortion causes was expressed by members of “Silent No More,” men and women whose lives have been severely impacted by abortion. Their testimonies revealed the truth of what the abortion industry calls an “inconsequential medical procedure.”

Catholic and Evangelicals were united in the truth of the Gospel message that all life is sacred and ordained by God.

The New Mexico pro-life community is urged to support pro-life legislation during the current legislative session. The Parental Notification Rights Act, House Bill 51, sponsored by Representative Baldonado, protects life and strengthens families by requiring parental involvement in abortion decisions for pregnant minors.

Our sympathy to Jose’s family as his Dad passed on last week. Jose and I shared on the air yesterday about the loving Fathers we had here on earth. My dad is my hero, he went home to be with the Lord at 64 of a sudden heart attack, when he passed on our town shut down for the funeral…..people were weeping……My dad was a mentor to many…..Jose’s Dad was a former School Supt in Las Vegas, NM, my Dad was the first Transportation Supt. for the Schools in Windom, Minn. We talked about how our Father’s impacted our lives so much and that is why we want to share JESUS CHRIST WITH ALL AND HAVE SUCH A PASSION FOR OUR LORD! We have seen and are seeing the Godly benefit of having Godly fathers! Pastor Bill is of the same, Bill had such a Godly father, Pastor Steve Smothermon who was on with me later yesterday, Had such a Godly father……..the fruit of Godly Fathers never rottens……..

Put faith in God only. Idol worship is worshiping or serving anything in the place of God. Idolatry can also include the worship of the true God through an idol. God does not forbid or condemn all representations of people and animals. God commanded that ornamental artwork be made in order to make things beautiful. When we worship something we can see, touch, or control, we MISS THE POWER AND GRANDER OF GOD! AMEN!

When Jesus met the Samaritan women at the well, she asked whether to worship God in Jerusalem or Samaria. he said, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth” John 4: 23,24

I believe in Tim Tebow

I’ve come to believe in Tim Tebow, but not for what he does on a football field, which is still three parts Dr. Jekyll and two parts Mr. Hyde.

No, I’ve come to believe in Tim Tebow for what he does off a football field, which is represent the best parts of us, the parts I want to be and so rarely am.

Who among us is this selfless?

Every week, Tebow picks out someone who is suffering, or who is dying, or who is injured. He flies these people and their families to the Broncos game, rents them a car, puts them up in a nice hotel, buys them dinner (usually at a Dave & Buster’s), gets them and their families pregame passes, visits with them just before kickoff (!), gets them 30-yard-line tickets down low, visits with them after the game (sometimes for an hour), has them walk him to his car, and sends them off with a basket of gifts.

Home or road, win or lose, hero or goat.

Remember last week, when the world was pulling its hair out in the hour after Tebow had stunned the Pittsburgh Steelers with an 80-yard OT touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in the playoffs? And Twitter was exploding with 9,420 tweets about Tebow per second? When an ESPN poll was naming him the most popular athlete in America?

Tebow was spending that hour talking to 16-year-old Bailey Knaub about her 73 surgeries so far and what TV shows she likes.

“Here he’d just played the game of his life,” recalls Bailey’s mother, Kathy, of Loveland, Colo., “and the first thing he does after his press conference is come find Bailey and ask, ‘Did you get anything to eat?’ He acted like what he’d just done wasn’t anything, like it was all about Bailey.”

More than that, Tebow kept corralling people into the room for Bailey to meet. Hey, Demaryius, come in here a minute. Hey, Mr. Elway. Hey, Coach Fox.

Even though sometimes-fatal Wegener’s granulomatosis has left Bailey with only one lung, the attention took her breath away.

“It was the best day of my life,” she emailed. “It was a bright star among very gloomy and difficult days. Tim Tebow gave me the greatest gift I could ever imagine. He gave me the strength for the future. I know now that I can face any obstacle placed in front of me. Tim taught me to never give up because at the end of the day, today might seem bleak but it can’t rain forever and tomorrow is a new day, with new promises.”

I read that email to Tebow, and he was honestly floored.

“Why me? Why should I inspire her?” he said. “I just don’t feel, I don’t know, adequate. Really, hearing her story inspires me.”

It’s not just NFL defenses that get Tebowed. It’s high school girls who don’t know whether they’ll ever go to a prom. It’s adults who can hardly stand. It’s kids who will die soon.

For the game at Buffalo, it was Charlottesville, Va., blue-chip high school QB Jacob Rainey, who lost his leg after a freak tackle in a scrimmage. Tebow threw three interceptions in that Buffalo game and the Broncos were crushed 40-14.

“He walked in and took a big sigh and said, ‘Well, that didn’t go as planned,’” Rainey remembers. “Where I’m from, people wonder how sincere and genuine he is. But I think he’s the most genuine person I’ve ever met.”

There’s not an ounce of artifice or phoniness or Hollywood in this kid Tebow, and I’ve looked everywhere for it.

Take 9-year-old Zac Taylor, a child who lives in constant pain. Immediately after Tebow shocked the Chicago Bears with a 13-10 comeback win, Tebow spent an hour with Zac and his family. At one point, Zac, who has 10 doctors, asked Tebow whether he has a secret prayer for hospital visits. Tebow whispered it in his ear. And because Tebow still needed to be checked out by the Broncos’ team doctor, he took Zac in with him, but only after they had whispered it together.

And it’s not always kids. Tom Driscoll, a 55-year-old who is dying of brain cancer at a hospice in Denver, was Tebow’s guest for the Cincinnati game. “The doctors took some of my brain,” Driscoll says, “so my short-term memory is kind of shot. But that day I’ll never forget. Tim is such a good man.”

This whole thing makes no football sense, of course. Most NFL players hardly talk to teammates before a game, much less visit with the sick and dying.

Isn’t that a huge distraction?

“Just the opposite,” Tebow says. “It’s by far the best thing I do to get myself ready. Here you are, about to play a game that the world says is the most important thing in the world. Win and they praise you. Lose and they crush you. And here I have a chance to talk to the coolest, most courageous people. It puts it all into perspective. The game doesn’t really matter. I mean, I’ll give 100 percent of my heart to win it, but in the end, the thing I most want to do is not win championships or make a lot of money, it’s to invest in people’s lives, to make a difference.”

So that’s it. I’ve given up giving up on him. I’m a 100 percent believer. Not in his arm. Not in his skills. I believe in his heart, his there-will-definitely-be-a-pony-under-the-tree optimism, the way his love pours into people, right up to their eyeballs, until they believe they can master the hopeless comeback, too.

Remember the QB who lost his leg, Jacob Rainey? He got his prosthetic leg a few weeks ago, and he wants to play high school football next season. Yes, tackle football. He’d be the first to do that on an above-the-knee amputation.

Hmmm. Wonder where he got that crazy idea?

“Tim told me to keep fighting, no matter what,” Rainey says. “I am.

Here’s today’s Medical Bag with Dr. Joe………

Frying chicken is really pretty simple, a little messy, but basically you dip pieces of chicken into a mix of egg and milk, roll them around in flour with special herbs and spices, then cook the chicken in sizzling hot oil until the pieces are brown, crispy and delicious.

But we’re forgetting something… add a dash of dimethylpolysiloxane, an anti-foaming agent made of silicone that is also used in Silly Putty and cosmetics.

Now add a big ‘ol heaping spoonful of tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), which is a chemical preservative and a form of butane (AKA lighter fluid). One gram of TBHQ can cause “nausea, vomiting, ringing in the ears, delirium, a sense of suffocation, and collapse,” according to A Consumer’s Dictionary of Food Additives. Five grams of TBHQ will kill you… so be real careful with this.

Now, let’s liberally sprinkle on 13 other corn-derived ingredients. Now we’re only about 20 or so ingredients shy of what’s in a single chicken nugget from McDonald’s. Oh, and by the way, you were using pulverized chicken skin and mechanically reclaimed meat for your chicken, right? No?! Hmmmm…

Now I know that you don’t do your fried chicken like that, but every day and night, millions of folks consume those ingredients in… Chicken McNuggets, which McDonalds claims are “made with white meat, wrapped up in a crisp tempura batter.” Yeah right and high fructose corn syrup is good for you, too.

The “chicken” only accounts for about 50% of what’s in a Chicken McNugget. The other 50% includes a large percentage of corn derivatives, sugars, leavening agents and other completely synthetic ingredients, meaning that parts of the nugget do not come from a field or farm at all. They come from a… petroleum plant (not the flowering kind). Hungry yet? Me neither.

But even scarier is the fact that this recipe is a new and improved “healthier” Chicken McNugget launched in 2003, after a federal judge called the deep-fried poultry bites, “A McFrankenstein creation of various elements not utilized by the home cook.” Also terrifying is the fact that these McFrankenuggets are overwhelmingly marketed to children who love their fun shapes and kid-friendly size.

McDonald’s is the poster child for fast food wrath, but if you look at the nutritional information for chicken at any fast food restaurant, the ingredient list will be dozens of items longer than the egg, flour, chicken and oil recipe you use at home.

Eating fast food is a habit, a really bad one, but is it one you can break? You and I rarely plan to have a special breakfast at the Burger King in the airport, or a lingering lunch at Taco Bell, or a “delicious meal” at Arby’s for dinner. It just happens. You’re late, tired, hungry, broke, or all of the above. You have no time, and you’ve got to find something to eat before you crash. All of a sudden a bright, red and yellow friendly sign calls you from the side of the road to come on in to the Drive-through.

In five minutes or less you are happily chomping down an inexpensive, filling meal. But don’t be fooled – the true cost of fast food does not come out of your wallet, but out of your body, your health, and your years here on this earth.

Here’s how you break this unhealthy fast food habit:
· educate yourself about the true ingredients of fast food items,
· plan ahead for your meals,
· carry healthy snacks like nuts to ward off hunger and cook healthy chicken recipes at home.
· Convince yourself that fast food is the most disgusting stuff on the planet and is harmful to you and to those you love. After reading the following, I hope that won’t be too hard…

My phone rang at lunch time yesterday it was Pastor Bill Ruhl and he had the shocking news that Dr. Deb Gunderman had passed away at 2am. I had to call Bill back and make sure I had heard him correctly. Dr. Deb did a Radio program on KKIM for 2 years called. “Walking In the Way” She walked into Heaven yesterday at . Dr. Deb was an AWESOME witness to us all in the love of JESUS CHRIST. She walked the talk. Below I have posted the announcemnt a few years back when Dr. Deb was first going to be on the air with us. She was just 59 years of age at her passing. I sure will miss Dr. Deb, she was an AWESOME friend in JESUS!

My day started out at 4am yesterday brewing the CUP………The LORD led me through the writing as HE always does! Do you know I do not plan what to write…The LORD shows me during the night……..HE talks to me during my sleep and then prompts me out of bed when it is time to start writing!

Simply Amazing!!!!!!!!!

That is part of my Testimony for you this day……..so I know first hand that God talks to us through movement of the Holy Spirit.

Yesterday I was shown extreme love by Gretchen and Lars. I love these two with all my being……Gretchen left for Portales to start School at Eastern New Mexico today and Lars went back to Chicago to resume classes at Columbia in Chicago. Brian, Grecthen’s boyfriend was at breakfast with us yesterday……We all shared the Love of God and family together before we went our separate ways. Brian showed extreme love when he followed Gretchen to Portales in his car so he could help her get settled in.Broan then had to drive all the way back by himself. No small task as it is a 3 1/2 hour drive each way, but that is what LOVE is all about. Lars told me,” Dad, you are the best Dad anyone could have.” Words that any Dad worth his salt, thirsts to hear.

That is true love……….

After a long day at work, Sharon made her famous Mac and Cheese, you have not eaten Mac and Cheese until you have eaten hers! Even after a long day at work serving others, on her feet constantly as a nurse showing constant love and care to others, she comes home and treats me to this wonderful meal as she knew it was a tough day to see the kid’s go off…but it was an AWESOME day in the LORD as HE had all covered in HIS love!

It mean a lot to me that Steve Stucker of KOB TV, who now is a Pastor was with us on NM News and Views last night. Steve also said he loves the CUP! I appreciated Steve’s kind words. When we moved here 17 years ago, I quickly found this TV Weatherman intriguing as he always said on air, God Bless you! When I did Saturday mornings on JOY AM 1550 years ago I took a poll of who is your favorite TV personality in New Mexico? Steve won by a landslide!!! Steve show’s the love of JESUS CHRIST everyday…….He has been doing it for years on KOB TV, and continues as a Chaplin and Pastor! Steve has been a Tim Tebow for years right here in New Mexico!

In my study of the life of Smith Wigglesworth, he loves to state..leave people better than you found them…….if you don’t, you have done no good……The message the LORD is showing me stronger than ever is……LEAVE PEOPLE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND THEM. We cannot be in such a hurry…….it’s just like reading the Bible verse that I opened up with this morning I know many of you have read that HUNDRED’s of times, but today and all days…slow down and let the LORD show you new things from scripture……that will change your life. Our desire is that he is able to tolerate this treatment well and that it does the job it’s intended to do. We would be especially grateful if this would be the last one he has to have and that his kidney disease would be healed. Also pray for usual peace for his mom, Shannon and Dad, James as well as for Mark, Gabe’s step-dad.

Good morning Dewey, Renee Giefer was Renee Ratzloff growing up her parents are Phil and Joan Ratzloff who i am sure you probably know as they drove school bus for your Dad.
Renee was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at an early age and has been insulin bound her entire life. she is an inspiration to many thru her love and devotion to God daily. She has a smile that is infectious and beautiful. She has one son Brady,, he is so talented and he gives the glory to Jesus daily also. His father died tragically on a farm accident when he was very young.
anyways, last summer her kidneys began to fail, and in Oct Nov they put her on transplant list for pancreas and kidneys, they were not hopeful of a match as she has the rarest or rare blood type. well God being God, three days before Christmas the transplant team called her at 3 in the morning and said to head to Minneapolis they were able to get a perfect match for pancreas and kidney, a young 22 yo from Florida had died in a car accident and they were bringing the organs as they spoke.
She went thru the transplant amazingly great, doctors were flabbergasted at the recovery.
anyways, she is now having a few set backs and prayers are needed. we have not put it out publicly on the team up for Renee page, but on wed she has to go back to u of m and have biopsy done on the organs to see if rejection is beginning. We pray that it is just a small blip and not a full blown rejection.

Let us continue to pray over the situation in The Sidney, Montana and Willsiton, North Dakota area…….I am in mourning for the family…….here is an update on Sherry Arnold……..

WILLISTON, N.D. — Authorities renewed calls Monday for landowners near the northern North Dakota-Montana border to look for signs of a missing Montana teacher’s buried body, while documents revealed one of the two suspects in her disappearance has spent time in prison.
At a news conference Monday, authorities asked that “landowners and landowners only” help look for the body of 43-year-old Sherry Arnold, a math teacher from Sidney, Mont., who has been missing since Jan. 7 and is presumed dead.
“We don’t want the public out there running around in the countryside,” Williston Police Chief Jim Lokken said. “The landowners know their land and their property. If they see anything that has been disturbed, we want them to check it out.”
Authorities said little of the two men believed to be involved in Arnold’s disappearance: 47-year-old Lester Vann Waters Jr. and 22-year-old Michael Keith Spell, both of Parachute, Colo.
Waters was arrested in Williston, and Spell was arrested in Rapid, City, S.D., The Billings Gazette reported.

I am so sadden about this tragedy…..Crime has no zip code………let us remember that…….

Dewey, yesterday Was a great day for TV. I watched several books on the Bible. The story of Esther, of Ruth, Solomon and Jeremiah. I haven’t watched the last two, but have them recorded. Also the ‘Greatest Story ever Told.. I have to wonder if Tim Tebow has anything to do with that barage of Great Stories. While the game played with the Bronco’s over one Million people looked up JOHN 3:16 on the internet!!! Thrilled my heart to hear that. The Great Awakening of America, happening before our eyes! Praise God! sam

JESUS LOVES ME

God’s love for me is so great, it is beyond my understanding. The hymn “The Love of God” states the difficulty of describing His love.
“Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry,
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
though stretched from sky to sky.”

The Hebrew nation, God’s chosen people, rebelled against Him, rejected His commands, and refused to follow Him. Yet God did not completely refuse them or destroy them as a nation. He grieved over their sins but continued to love them with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3.
Likewise, God continues to love me in spite of my weakness, my rebellion, and my failure to obey His commands. The love of Jesus is shown that while I was still His enemy He loved me so much that He died for me. Since Jesus’ loves me so, I will love Him in return in the same way He loves me.
I Will Love the Lord My God With All My Heart:
When I delight in someone else more than in God I am not loving God with all my heart. When I put God first, His love flows through me. Then I have a greater love for others. This is the proof that I love God.
I Will Love the Lord My God With All My Soul:
When I long for times of deep fellowship with God in His Word and in prayer I am confirming my love for Him. “I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways. I will delight myself in your statutes.I will not forget your word.” Psalm 119:14-16.
I Will Love the Lord My God With All My Mind:
My love for God is revealed by how I think about Him and His ways during my leisure moments. What do I think about most? Whatever it is, that is my god. Whatever I love most will constantly be in my mind. “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:4,5.
I Will Love the Lord My God With All My Strength:
I view the commands of Jesus as expressions of His love for me. So, when I do not overcome my habitual sins, claiming that I am “only human,” I do not show love for God. For Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” “One who has my commandments, and keeps them, that person is one who loves me.” “If a man loves me, he will keep my word.” “If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love.” John 14:15, 21, 23; 15:10.
I Express My Love to God By Meeting the Needs of Others:
If I have material possessions and I see my brother in need but I do not meet his needs, how can the love of God be in me? I do not show my love with words or speech but with actions and truth.
I Love God When I Look Upon My Brothers and Sisters in Christ As I Would the Lord:
“…Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34,35.
I Prove My Love for God By Not Loving the World or the Things of the World:
“Don’t love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.” 1 John 2:15. “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:18,19.
My Love for God Is Demonstrated By Giving Up Those Activities that Offend a Weaker Brother:
“Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in love. Don’t destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.” Romans 14:15.
A Test of My Love Is in the Attitude I Have Toward the Flood of Wickedness that Has Invaded America:
Are we complacent with the sinful conditions around us? Or are we grieving with God over it? “Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12.
I Love God By Clearing My Conscience:
I show my love for God when I confess my sins and ask others to forgive me. Then I will have nothing to fear from Him in the present and also at the time of my death. I can accept my death without fear and with thanksgiving, knowing I will see the One I love. “…God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world. {4:18} There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:16-18.
My Relationship With My Brothers and Sisters in Christ Reveals How I Love God:
If they offend me, I forgive. If they abuse me, I return good for evil. “Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.” Colossians 3:12-14.
“If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.” 1 John 4:20,21.
God is Not a Respecter of Persons:
I also, as an expression of my love for God, will not be a respecter of persons.
I show my love for God by my love for others.
Because love is the fruit of the Holy Spirit, it is the sign to me and others that I am filled with God’s Spirit and guided by Him. As I look at my life, am I under the guidance of the Holy Spirit? Am I forgiving? Am I a good Samaritan? Have I stopped judging others? All these are tests of my true love for God.
“And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
“Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.” Ephesians 6:23,24.

Last night I discovered that we get Oprah Winfrey’s cable TV channel. Now I know that many in the Church do not like her, but as I was scanning the TV last night I stopped on her channel as she had an interview with Joel Osteen, another person the Church is divided on. Then after her interview with Joel Osteen and his wife she had on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Two outstanding interviews that allowed me to learn more about Osteen and Gov. Christie, who many had hoped would run for President. I have never watched the Oprah Winfrey show, but I have to tell you she did a great job of interviewing…..and for a guy that has done it for 35 years I was impressed..she did not ask “NOTHING NOISE” Questions.

First my thoughts on Joel Osteen, Him and his wife are so in love with the Lord and each other.
That sure comes across…….Mrs. Osteen was on the program also. I have said for years that Joel Osteen reminds me of a Modern day Norman Vincent Peal who had a Church in New York and was a Positive Thinker! When you got into sales, you were given Norman’s tapes and books. Peale also had a wonderful Church in New York.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale (May 31, 1898 – December 24, 1993) was a minister and author (most notably of The Power of Positive Thinking) and a progenitor of the theory of “positive thinking“.

He and his wife also started Guidepost magazine, which I am sure many of you read each month.

Dear man of God……..Joel Osteen and his wife seem to be following the same steps of the Peale’s. I thank the LORD for the Ministry of the Osteen’s. The criticism that Osteen get’s from the Church is that he water’s down the Word of God. I have been praying about that, I have also questioned that…….but he is delivering a message of hope and love in God and he is reaching many that are not going to Church. Osteen kept saying during the interview that so many have been beaten down by their Church ….Mrs. Osteen said the same thing. I have to say that I talk to many people each week, and many of them that are reaching out and need help because in their mind they have been beaten down by their Church or Pastor, or left a Church years ago and never went again.

Osteen said that is why many Church’s are struggling to stay afloat, they have beaten down their flock, or people are not shown the Love of JESUS. This goes back to our discussion for the past year or more…….To many people have been injured by the Church.

The LORD has been working on me of late to even LOVE more…….LOVE more……..judge less…..LOVE MORE………do not compromise God’s Word ever, LOVE more…….Do not compromise on GOD’S WORD, do not give in…..LOVE MORE LOVE MORE IN THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST!

I am hearing from more and more people these days that do not have a Church, because they have been hurt. They have turned to us as they know we are an OPEN DOOR.

No matter where you are in your life today….as a Pastor or lay person, or looking for a Church I believe that Osteen and Peale have a message of LOVE and HOPE for us all…….But remember, It’s all in God’s Word. God’s Word is to be the one and only TRUE GUIDE, and follow the 10 commandments, as my Uncle Joe always said, “Why can’t people just follow the 10 commandments?” My challenge to you all today is POST THE 10 COMMANDMENTS in your Church, office, business, and home..even in your CAR!

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself

And one of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?” Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ “The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (NAS, Mark 12:28-31)

In Jesus’ teachings, our relationship with our fellow men, women and children is inseparable from our relationship with God. Love of God and love of our neighbors are two aspects of the same calling:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (NIV, John 13:34-35)

I have to say that I believe the Church as a whole has complicated the message of JESUS CHRIST.

Now as far as Oprah’s interview with Gov. Christie, it was wonderful. He said that, he say’s what he thinks! Too many Politicians do not say what they think because they play the game of Politics. Christie said he did not run for President because he feel’s he is not ready. This guy really say’s what he thinks and does not play games. Winfrey asked him,”Will the deadlock ever end in Congress?”…..He said that is the Presidents job to deal with that. The Gov. said what he work’s out compromises with Democrats all the time..by meeting with them and telling them, here is what I will not compromise on but let’s work on this. It’s just like being a Pastor, Let us not compromise on the Word of God, but let’s work on this…….I love this Gov. Christie! I have said for years that most POLITICIANS just say a bunch of NOTHING NOISE! Make a list for me of the Politicians that say WHAT THEY REALLY THINK! Way too many play the game just to protect their job and sway voters. Winfrey asked the Gov. and Mrs Christie if they could see the Gov. running for President in 4 years, and they both said yes. It was a great interview that really showed the humanistic side of the Gov. when Winfrey talked about people making fun of his weight, as Winfrey herself has battled that. The Gov. says he is used to it now, having guys like David Letterman make so much fun of him, but it hurts his wife and kid’s.

One of the main points that came out of this interview, is that this Country is HURT by leaders who do not tell the TRUTH and SAY WHAT THEY REALLY THINK!

I would rather have a person tell me what they think, than pretend that they agree with me and hide their true feelings.

It was awesome to see such a large crowd there. I was quizzed pretty well by the Journal as to why I felt it was OK for me, as a Newsperson, to be there as Emcee for a “Political Fundraiser”. They may run a story. I did my best to be faithful to God & stand my ground, being kind but firm. Told them I was there for Spiritual reasons as a pastor, a chaplain & an adoptive father. I hope I’ve started a dialogue with the reporter that will lead to be being able to share more with him in the future. Steve

Steve, Lord Willing will be on with me tonight on NM News and Views talking about Right To Life issues and the story that was in the Albuquerque Journal that questioned why he was the MC of the event. God Bless you Steve!

You may recall Brandi’s co-worker Carla who was hit by a car while walking near her home. This happened several months ago and many have been praying for her recovery. She has had many complications and was in a coma. Several times the medical staff suggested to her mother to “just pull the plug and let her go”. Carla is a believer and Brandi has prayed with her and witnessed to her mother. I received an email from Brandi yesterday to let me know Carla is awake and sitting in a wheel chair in physical therapy at Healthsouth. Her left side is still paralyzed and she is unable to speak but God is moving. As I read your cup this morning I was deeply moved by the sanctity of life for ALL. What a miracle we would all have missed if Carla had been taken off life support. I believe He will continue to heal her and what a powerful testimony she will have.
Dewey thank you so much for what you do in TV and radio and especially with the daily cup. When I am down I am lifted up just reading the cup.
